What a monumental week for Roundswell Community Primary Academy. The weather settled and the contractors speedily set about constructing the new school on the pre-prepared foundations. They have diligently worked across the weekend to erect much of the new nursery and reception classes including part of the upper floor where the older pupils will work in the future. The roads of North Devon have been busy with very large lorries delivering in careful sequence before craning the new building into place. This process will continue this week and into next. If you haven't visited the site please take a look. We have had a lot of social media activity since the arrival of the building and also further requests for children to attend nursery.
Once the building is erected they will then set about the internal finishes and the landscaping of the site. We are all excited about this stage of the new school as we can see tangibly how the school will look and the exciting opportunities the school will provide.
I visited the school site over the weekend to see a young child who will be attending the school, looking through the gates and remarking, 'Is that really my new school? It looks so big!" What a lovely comment!
The advert for the first teacher will go out this week and I look forward to informing you of his/her name.
Kind regards,
