Down at the new school site on Claypits Road, the construction company are in an intense period of preparation for the new school building which starts to arrive on 18th February. The company are ahead of schedule and have made good progress during the winter months. The school car park is visible and the footprint of the school building is visible.
We have had an excellent response from local parents who have signed their child up for a nursery or reception class place from September. Over 30 pupils will commence their education with Roundswell Community Primary Academy, which will provide the children with good class sizes set in 21st century facilities. The new Head Teacher, Kate Fairbrother, has begun work with the Trust to recruit staff. The furniture, IT and resources for the school have been ordered and will be in place ahead of schedule in July.
As a Trust team this has been a four year journey and we are so excited about the future and the development of this new school. We can't wait until our first day in September to see the faces of our pioneer children. What a special day that will be!
